OHATCHEE – Funeral service for Ms. Elizabeth Anne Oaks Aust, age 43 will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m until time of service at the funeral home.
Ms. Aust passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011. at UAB Hospital.
Pallbearers will be cousins.
Survivors include her daughter, Briane Aust of Ohatchee; son, Benjamin Aust of Ohatchee; father, Clarence B. Oaks, Jr. of Ohatchee; sister Catherine Purdy of Fairfax, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Aust was a native of Maryland and resident of Ohatchee. She received a BS and Masters Degree from South Alabama and her RN Degree from University of Alabama Huntsville. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Melba Sue Oaks.

Elizabeth was a very dear special friend who I will miss greatly. Ben and Briane were blessed by the epitome of a GREAT mother. She will always be in my thoughts as well as in my heart. It was an honor to be her friend. My condolences go out to the children and her whole family.

I am very sad by this news. Elizabeth you were such an amazing person and I was very glad to know you. All that you have been through in these past few years, you always found time to laugh and smile. I will miss not hearing from you, but I know you are with your mother now.. probably sewing in heaven! The Oaks Family is in my prayers. Hugs to Ben and Briane. Love You
