Elizabeth B. "Lisa" Canova, 89, of Monessen, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Oct. 8, 1912, in Italy, a daughter of the late Augustino and Agatha (Quottrocchi) Ostetrico. Mrs. Canova had been a resident of Monessen since moving to the United States in 1920, having lived the last two years at Thorpe's Personal Care Home in Charleroi. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Italian Mutual Aid Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 776 and the Monessen Democratic Womens Club, all of Monessen. Survivors include two daughters, Agnes and her husband Ronald Celaschi of Allenport and Judy Canova of Monessen; two grandsons, Ronald R. Celaschi and Christopher Celaschi and his wife Vivian. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Canova in 1987; a daughter, Antionette Canova in 1939; her twin sister, Anna Filander; and two brothers, Julio and Raymond Ostetrico. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. A blessing will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
