CLATTENBURG, Elizabeth (Beth) A. (nee Lewis) Elizabeth (Beth) A. Clattenburg, beloved wife of Barry Clattenburg passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Left to mourn are her husband Barry; her sister, Irene York and family of Wichita Falls, Texas, and many friends. Beth was born in Edmonton, the daughter of the late Josephine (nee Faulhaner) and Seth Lewis. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School. She then entered training in Medical Laboratory Science at the Royal Alex Hospital. Beth managed the Newson Clinical Laboratory in Edmonton. Beth had a strong interest in Geology and went on many field trips in Alberta and British Columbia with the University of Alberta Extension Department. Barry and Beth met on a geological field trip to Hawaii in 1978, fell in love, and married. Beth enjoyed attending live theatre, gardening and needlework. After retirement, Beth volunteered at the Valley Zoo, for The Heart Fund, and for The Canadian Diabetes Association. She was a longtime volunteer cataloger in the Human History Section at the Royal Alberta Museum. Beth particularly enjoyed the years of wrapping presents at Santas Anonymous. Beth was a member of the Women's Canadian Club of Edmonton. She was also a proud member of S.A.G.E. and S.E.E.S.A. and her life was enriched by the many activities and friendships she formed there. Beth was a kind, gentle, and courageous person who loved her family, her cats and her friends. At Beth's request, no services will be held.
