ELIZABETH A. CUSTER

Elizabeth (Betsy) Custer passed away on Friday, May 26th while surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of Martin Custer of Bucks County, PA, to whom she was married for 53 years.

Betsy was born August 31, 1948 in East St. Louis, IL and grew up in Battle Creek, MI. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy High School in Covington, KY. She attended Saint Mary of the Springs in Columbus, OH, then worked in the cosmetics and fashion industry for many years.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katrina Custer; her father, Robert Fisk; her mother, Marcella Fisk; and her brothers, Robert Fisk, Jr. and John Fisk. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Bethany Miller; her son-in-law, Jeffrey Miller; and her sisters-in-law Carol Griffin Small, Camille Lieffers, Dianne Fisk, and their families.

Betsy took much joy in following the careers and travels of her daughters and was proud of their accomplishments. She had lifelong friends in England, Carole, Jeremy, and Hannah Stanish, and numerous friends in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She was an Anglophile and collected English and American antiques, and enjoyed watching British cultural shows, mysteries, and Old Hollywood movies. Always with a keen eye for beauty and craftsmanship detail, she was an avid antique collector and decorator.

Betsy's pride was her home in the country setting of Bucks County, with its rose garden, bird feeders, and deer crossings. Her beloved dog, Trixie, is a ghost-chocolate colored cockapoo. She loved her candy-apple-red car "Marybelle", a 1974 VW Thing. She could not wait for mild weather each year to put the top down and cruise. She even had patent leather red roller skates to match.

Her family will hold a private memorial service to honor her life and memory. Persons wishing to honor her memory can whisper their well-wishes when they feed the birds or look out upon a garden, as this was her true joy.
