Elizabeth Ross DANZ Sept. 25, 1914 ~ Feb. 20, 2009 Elizabeth Ross Danz, beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully at home at the age of ninety-four. Born in Ellensburg to Edith and Frederick Ross, she was a graduate of Hathaway Brown School and Mills College. She married Joseph B. Danz in 1938 in Seattle, where they raised their family and shared their lives for sixty-one years. Betsy offered her time and talents to many local organizations throughout her life. She was an avid supporter of Seattle Repertory Theatre during its formative years and had an enduring commitment to Seattle Children's Hospital. Her passions were her family, reading, theater and her garden. Predeceased by husband Joe and son Frederick (Fritz), Betsy is survived by daughters Elizabeth N. Danz (Seattle), Patricia R. Stirnemann (Paris); daughter-in-law Nelda L. Danz (Seattle); grandchildren Julien and Emily Stirnemann (Paris), Calder and Natasha Danz (Seattle); and great-granddaughter, Hannah Stirnemann (Paris). The influence of Betsy's generous spirit is reflected daily in the lives of her family and friends, whom she carried close to her heart. The family is grateful to Swedish Hospice for their gentle assistance in the last months of Betsy's life.A memorial service is planned for late April. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth Fischer Endowment at Seattle Children's Hospital, Swedish Hospice or a charity of choice.

Elizabeth,

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family on the loss of your mother. It sounds as if she led a wonderful and interesting life, and created a legacy that will carry on for many years.

I'm sure she knew the blessing it was to have you for a daughter, as I know it is my blessing to be able to call you my friend.

May you find peace and comfort during this time of sadness and loss.

To the Family of Elizabeth Ross Danz:
I was most saddened when I read this morning of the death of "Betsy" Danz. What remarkable lady is was and what a fine legacy she left behind. It was an honor to have known and worked briefly with Betsy about her Ross Family roots in Ellensburg. Her contributions to the Local History Collections at the Ellensburg Public Library have always been very much appreciated.
Think of you,
