Ned and Anne Bullis
May 7, 2016
From Anne and Ned Bullis, Marblehead.
We've known Liz for many years, both in Boston and Washington. When Ned moved to Boston from Washington in the 60's, he looked up Liz who had moved to Boston from Washington some time before. She introduced him to Boston and Beacon Hill. Liz moved back to D. C. but she always kept up with her New England friends. For many years she reserved a room through us at the Eastern Yacht Club where she could look out over Marblehead Harbor and entertain her friends. She loved the Eastern for its simple New England ambiance and inexpensiveness. She would arrive having driven all the way with a bicycle strapped on the car and a tennis racket inside. We'll miss her annual visits.

Liz, who also was known as Betty, was my Dad's first cousin. She attended B.U. where our daughter attends college. I had a chance to spend a night with her in late August after dropping off our daughter Sarah at college. We spoke of family, watched the U.S. Open ( she was a big Federer fan)..she cooked a great breakfast, we went on a walk in a nearby park and walked over to a restaurant nearby. She got a bit winded and had to take a break every now and then but was determined to get in her exercise. Liz was fun to be with..opinionated and interested in politics and so much else. I'll treasure that last visit. She will be missed.

We, at the Center for Early Relationship Support of Jewish Family and Children's Service are deeply saddened by the loss of Elizabeth, our champion for giving babies and their families the best possible start in life. For over 15 years Elizabeth has been a staunch support of our work with the most vulnerable families. We will dearly miss her presences and our bi-annual gatherings with her.
Please keep me informed of the plans for the Memorial Service. Thank you, Peggy Kaufman 781 693-5611.

The Densmore family feels a little poorer for the loss of Betty des Cognets. She was a childhood neighborhood playmate of my mom, and frequently visited our parents in Worcester, Mass., most recently last August. Her sharp mind, intense interest in politics, corporate governance and public affairs, and real intellectual curiosity, are rare today. She also had a family connection to where we live -- Williamstown-North Adams, Mass. which also brings the loss home -- the last scion of the old leather/manufacturing legacy here. She hosted us on several visits to DC. The lessons she leaves us -- Be active! Be involved! Look sharp! Be crisp!

How very sad. Betty was the step-daughter of my Aunt Ingeborg. She was wonderful and loving with Ingeborg and our whole family here in Canada. We wish her love and comfort in her next journey.
Can someone please let me know about a service in the spring? Thank you.

Hi everyone who knew and loved Liz des Cognets.Lis was one of my oldest and dearest friends. She came to Cambridge every year in August and always spent a few mights with me.I had the opportunity to visit with Liz a few weeks before she died. My two sons, Shelby and Allen :Pierce were with me. They took turns playing her :"out of tune: piano." Lots of laughs. Liz is one of the most courageous, delightful friends. I will miss her dreadfully.
Feel free to call if you want to ask questions. My phone number is 617-864-8491. Any friend of Liz des Cognets is automatically a friend of mine.

Having known Liz for more than 50 years, I was very distressed and surprised to read the Post obituary this week. I had no idea she had any health problems. I really would like to be in touch with any close relatives to find out details and information on the memorial service.
