Elizabeth Doiron Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2025.
Elizabeth (Liz) Swol Doiron, 65, of Plainville, CT passed away peacefully at her home on September 18, 2025. She was born on April 6, 1960 in Morristown, New Jersey to loving parents Thomas and Irene Swol. The Swols were a military family with nine children and lived several places before settling in New Britain, Connecticut, where Liz spent most of her childhood. Liz was the second to the youngest of the siblings and had a sense of humor that made her mother blush. On December 29, 1984, Liz married her sweetheart Paul Doiron and moved to Plainville. Together they raised adored sons Brian and James and were blessed with four granddaughters.

Liz was an active member of her church and local communities. She spent many years volunteering her time at Gaffney School and in more recent years at the Plainville Senior Center where she was a member of the chorale group. She loved a celebration and loved to put on a show ("don't MAKE me sing!"). She especially loved hootenannies with her siblings singing songs by the bonfire. She brought festivity and enthusiasm to events with songs, costumes, and games she made for her family. She also used these talents at East Side Restaurant where she worked for many years. Known there as 'Beth', she brought joy to others through songs, laughter, and good cheer – "Ticki Tocki Ticki Tocki Hoy! Hoy! Hoy!"

Some of her favorite moments were the simple ones spent with her devoted husband, Paul. Whether it was reading, spending time in Norton Park, concerts at Walnut Hill Park, or enjoying a sunset, they treasured their time together.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, sister Carolyn, and brothers Thomas and William. She is survived by her husband Paul, sons Brian (Kathy) and James (Nora), granddaughters Emma, Olivia, Makayla, and Kaylin, siblings Nancy (Vincent), Richard (Vivian), Phillip (Maryann), Mary Jane (the late Carlos Sr.), and Robert (Diane), sister-in-law Jackie, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Southington on October 3, 2025 at 11:00AM.

Aunt Lizzie was truly one in a million and I hope, one day, I can be as welcoming as she was. She always made me feel like part of the family and just another cousin whenever I would visit with Sarah. Sending prayers and love to the whole family.

Liz always made me laugh whenever I saw her. She was a bright Star in the Swoll family. She is now having the time of her life up in Heaven. She will be missed.
