Dear Peggy and Marty,
I am so sorry for your loss, and words seem so inadequate in expressing the sadness that we all feel.
Although it has been some 30 years, the expressions of others clearly reveals that the love which was Betsy, survived throughout her lifetime, and will now live on forever in our hearts, and memories.
Dear friends, my thoughts are with you all…
Love always,
Greg

Betsy's dad was our dad's first cousin. While we did not know Betsy well, we would still like to express our deepest sympathy at her untimely passing. May God give you the strength to cope with this senseless tragedy.

Dear Peggy & Marty,
It was with complete shock that we heard the news about Betsy. It seems like only yesterday when you and your mom would make the trek to New Jersey every summer. We so looked forward to those weeks spent with you. Remember that Betsy will always be in your hearts and hold on to the wonderful memories. Our love to you all,
Love, Lisa (Shivers) Wolf

I do remember Betsy, and will remember her always. After not seeing her for over a decade, I was surprised she even remembered me. I recall her saying some kind words to me about a few of life’s hard knocks, on a couple of occasions when we crossed paths in Green Tree during the 1980’s. It stands out in my memory, because the only other of my fellow Saint Margaret’s students I’ve seen after returning from the Air Force were the few who went to Langley.
No loss such as this is ever a good loss, and I feel I am always lousy at trying to think of words. All of you who were close with Betsy will feel her love, presence, and caring in so many deep and personal ways. What was stolen from this earth way too early, was something immensely better than any words I have.
I’m also lousy at saying ‘anything good will come from something like this.’ For those of you who were the closest to her, just love each other more, and comfort each other always. There ain’t nothing better to say, I guess. I’m very, very sorry you have such grief from this senseless tragedy, and I very sincerely and devoutly believe that Betsy has gone on to a better place.

Peggy:
You have my deepest sympathy. Please take comfort in knowing that after the shock & anger subsided, I smiled. I went back to our sunny days on Sheldon riding bikes and playing games. Our 1st trip into "town" alone with our big sisters. She will be missed by many for one main reason, the joy she gave.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Betsy,
I still cannot believe the news that morning when your AOA family found out. Your co-workers were in shock, tears and sobbing sounds were everywhere in the room. Betsy everyone at AOA just loved your smile, your sense of humor, and the happiness in your voice everyday. As I speak for all of us you will be truly missed not just as a co-worker but a friend.
Rest in Peace.

I attended St. Margaret's with Betsy and haven't seen her in years. As I have read through the notes below it's evident that the special, vibrant, fun loving and caring Betsy from grade school remained the same into adulthood. She was special then and will remain special to all who knew her.
My sincerest sympathy to all of you. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers in the days to come.

Betsy, I stopped today and said good- bye, in my typical fashion, I was quiet, said my prayer and signed the book. Though it's been 30 some years since we partied together, I still remember the times. Though you don't know it, my daughter was also there at the same time, and with God smiling on her she decided to run on the treadmills rather than join her friends in the very same class you were in. Take care and travel well(I know you will). That drummer guy, I'll play a song for you in my head, [email protected]

I Am Always Near
I am always with you
Wherever you are
I am with you near or far
Because I am in a beautiful place
I can still see your smiles and feel
Your warm embrace
My love is always with you so
Do not shed a tear, be there for
Each other and always know
That I am near
I will always be your daughter
Although I am in Heaven above,
I could never forget my family
That I will always love
So you will always be in my thoughts
And prayers, it’s true,
If you ever still need me
Just close your eyes and believe,
I’ll be standing next to you!

I had the incredible pleasure of getting to know Betsy & Peggy through their childhood friend, Robin. Last May at a party at Robin's, I spent hours chatting with Betsy and Mike. We shared stories, laughed & laughed, and covered years of our lives in a matter of hours. We made plans to get together, which now can never be. I will treasure that day, and the photos I have of her for the remainder of my life. My wish would be that I had more time to have known her. My love & prayers to Peggy & her family, and Mike. Betsy,
It was 13 years ago today that we had our 2nd "first date". I can remember driving home that night and saying to myself that "I'm going to marry that girl". Eighteen months latter I became the most fortunate man alive as we walked down the ailse together as husband and wife. I loved you then and will always love you in all ways. You have touched the hearts and souls of everyone that has ever met you. Your unique personallity and welcoming smile had a way of making a complete stranger feel like an old friend. We are all blessed to have had you among us, I most of all. I will always cherish our time together and you will live on forever in my memories.

Peggy, it took untill today for me to realize the connection and now I feel as shocked as everyone else. I remember one Christmas many years ago. I think we may have all got together at the old Saloon for some Christmas cheer and then went back to Pennsbury. It was you, Betsy, me, Terry and her brother Mark. I put on some Christmas music and we all sang along, danced and didn't stop laughing all night long. I think I even made a short video of us all getting really silly. Try to remember the good times like these you had with your sister, of which there were many, to get you through this unthinkable tragedy. My sincere condolences go out to you and your family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

We will forever miss our dear friend and neighbor, Betsy. I will never forget the big smile and wave she would give us as we walked our dog and kids down the street. No matter how busy she was with gardening, she would always stop and come down to the street to chat, ask how the kids are doing and pet Sadie. Lady would "escape" and come to visit Sadie often...Betsy would come running over (sometimes in her pajamas) to retrieve Lady. I'll always miss the wonderful conversations and Betsy's positive outlook and smiling face. I cry every time I look at her house now. Such a senseless tragedy.

To Betsy's family and friends, I extend my deepest sympathy for your tremendous loss. I knew Betsy years ago from Tempo Fashions. She always had a bounce in her step and a brilliant smile on her face. It has been many years since I have seen her, but I am so sad that I will not run into her again (in this world). I have very fond memmories of her and will cherish them. My prayers are with all of you during this terrible time.

Betsy used to babysit for me and my sister when our families were neighbors back in the 70's. I will always remember how kind she was. I'm so sorry for your loss. God bless and your family in this time of sorrow

Betsy was a wonderful coworker and friend. I will always remember her beautiful smile and the kind words of "Aunt B" from my days at Allegheny General. Her smile will live on in all of our hearts. -Laura Buckel (Erie, PA)

To Betsy, Peggy & Marty,
It was sad and disheartening to hear the news. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. She was always full of life and energy for as long as I could remember. I can still picture us running through the old neighborhood as kids and the visits to Cincinnati after we’ve moved. She will always be remembered.

Peggy & Marty:
Even though I have not see Betsy or you in many years, I remember playing and babysitting all of you. Betsy was such a good little girl. When I would visit my Mom, I would see Betsy walking her dog down Sheldon Avenue. God must have needed her in heaven for some kind of job, or He would never had taken her from you.
You are in my thoughts a prayers,

Betsy was a warm loving heart filled person. Had the smile of love on her face at all times and was willing to give that love to those ready to accept.
Her deceased mother-in-law, Hilda Michels Paslawski loved her dearly.
Many will miss that shining light of Betsy. Jim and Mary Jane Kelly

To the family of Betsy-
I worked with Betsy for about 9 years at Tempo Fashions in the 80's. I remember the bounce in her step, the smile on her face and her always positive attitude. She was a class act. I remember her very fondly and my thoughts and prayers are with her family. God Bless

To Betsy's Family & Friends:
Although I did not personally know Betsy, I felt like I knew her through the stories told by a dear friend of her's, Patti. Patti was always talking about Betsy & what a wonderful person she was. I can tell that Betsy was a well loved individual & it's such a shame that her life was lost at such a young age & such a tragic way. I know her memory will live on through all of those who's lives she touched in so many ways. I am deeply saddened by this tragic loss & will continue to keep the family & friends of Betsy in my prayers, & hope that you all find healing through Our Lord above.
