Eugene Salem Obituary

Eugene J. Salem Sr., 82, of Saint Clair, died Wednesday morning at home.
Born in Saint Clair, May 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Helen Salem.
He was a graduate of Saint Clair High School and attended Penn State University.
He was employed by the former Pottsville Bleach & Dye Co. for 33 years prior to retiring.
He was a veteran of the Navy, having served aboard the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., DD-850.
He was a member of the former St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, Saint Clair.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, the former Maryann Bagucansky; eight children, Eugene J. Salem Jr., Saint Clair, Mary Jane Hesse, Saint Clair, Joseph J. Salem, Saint Clair, John Salem, Florida, Lisa Salem, Orwigsburg, Joan Marie Salem, Saint Clair, Frank Salem, Saint Clair, and James Salem, Saint Clair; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would prefer donations in form of contributions made to American Cancer Society, 16 N. Fourth St., Minersville, PA 17954. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements. I don't have enough kind words to explain what my father ment to me.
Growing up as a child as far back
as I could remember until the day he went to rest in peace with our Lord in heaven all I could do is thank God for blessing me with such a SPECIAL, KIND and LOVING DAD. Surley anyone who's path has crossed wiht his has to feel the same. He was shown more respect from his family, friends and people who worked under him than anyone I know. You will be missed DAD but I know we'll see each other again in HEAVEN... Your son Gene

So sorry to read about Gene's passing. I remember Gene as always a soft spoken gentleman when I worked with him at P B & D years ago. My sincere sympathy to his wife and the Salem kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
