Avon: After a long illness at St. Ann's Community on July 15, 2011. She is survived by her sister Harriet VanVessem, sisters-in-law, Lynda Hally, Irene Hally, Edith Odell; nieces, Frances Fiermonte, Susan (Robert) Tufts, Anne (Donald) McGuire, Lynda (Eric) Baumer; nephews Robert (Chris) Hally, Christopher (Terry) VanVessem, Timothy (Christine) VanVessem, Matthew (Rebecca) VanVessem; longtime friend Calethia Franklin; St. Ann's Aide, Jeanne Brannan; many grand nieces & grand nephews. Elizabeth was a retired state employee, having worked at the Banking Department, Transportation Department & Rochester Psychiatric Center. After retiring, she was employed at the Harley School. She enjoyed many activities: cooking, gardening, knitting, music, trips, and caring for dogs. Elizabeth was a favorite aunt; everyone cherished vacationing with her in the 1000 Islands, canoeing, and her wonderful cookies.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass Monday, 10:30 AM at the Chapel of St. Ann's Home, 1500 Portland Ave., Rochester. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450, or Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 South Winton Road, Rochester, NY 14623. Arrangements Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Avon.

We are so sorry to hear of Liz's death. She was a classmate of mine and a friend. We were on vacation at the time of her death and memorial service. Her family and friends have our deepest sympathy.
