Elizabeth Lyons Hartgrove passed away peaceably in her sleep in Provo, UT on 17 July 2008. Elizabeth was born in Nashua, NH to James F. and Margaret Lyons on Aug 22, 1951. As a child she enjoyed being around horses and aspired to become a veterinarian. She attended Iowa State University where she met William Hartgrove. They were married in Ames, IA on Sept 1, 1971. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple in 1980.
Elizabeth was a dedicated nurse who worked at the Utah State Hospital for fourteen years. She always worked with the children and youth, the most difficult units at the hospital. She was a dedicated caring nurse and friend to the children in her care, often going the extra mile to insure that they were getting the best care possible. She will be missed by both the children and her co-workers.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 37 years William; her five children Joshua (Stephanie), Jedediah, Zachariah, Ezekiel, and Rachel. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren as well as her parents, James F. and Margaret Lyons of Duxbury, MA as well as her sister Mary Sankey and brother James F. Lyons III.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made for a trust fund for grandchildren that has been set up at Utah Community Credit Union. A memorial service will be held on Monday July 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Grove 12th ward chapel located at 828 S. Locust in Pleasant Grove. Funeral directors- Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.

Elizabeth will be dearly missed. I would like to share this poem with all of you.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you. The day God called you home.

Elizabeth will be in our hearts and minds forever.
