Thomas A. Chiat

Thomas A. Chiat, of New Salisbury, died Thursday, September 16, 2003 at his home. He was a native of Louisville, KY. Mr. Chiat was the Chief Photographer and Pilot for ImagemasterAerial Images and formerly worked for the Louisville UPI Bureau and The Indianapolis Star. Tom served as UPI Chief Photographer for the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 races, as well as the Kentucky Derby for several years. A memorial service for Thomas will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 3 in Advent Christian Church, 2129 Shelby Street, New Albany with private burial. There will be no visitation. Survivors include: his sister, Heidi Chiat, Ferndale Washington; aunt and uncle, George and Martha Akers of California; aunt, Marguerette Stramiello of Florida; and friend, Lynda Lamb, Floyds Knobs, IN. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Indiana Division of State Parks, 402 W. Washington St. Room W298, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
