Marvin Albers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 22 to Sep. 29, 2023.
Marvin Ramon Albers (Marv), a humble man full of creativity, love & wisdom, was received in heaven in the early hours of August 29, 2023.
Born to Raymond and Grace Albers in Golden Valley, North Dakota on November 20, 1934.
Marv lived a life full of experiences. From early years, on a farm in North Dakota, moving to Illinois and eventually landing in Lodi, Ca. Here, he attended Lodi High School and in 1952 enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Marv served in the Korean War as an Aircraft Mechanic, later becoming a Loadmaster. During his time in the service, he traveled extensively, but his favorite countries were by far Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
In 1959, Marv met and married the love of his life, Judith Smith (Judy) and went on to have three children Kelly, Brien, & Kimberley. Judy was a homemaker while Marvin started his welding career at Blackwelders Ironworks, in Rio Vista. He later established his own mobile welding company, Marv's Welding, working primarily on oil rigs.
Marvin was a devoted husband to his wife for sixty years, a loving father, and undoubtedly the best "Papa" in the world. He loved fishing, telling stories, playing cards, and most  of all gardening. If you knew Marv, you were sure to receive a bag of tomatoes or plums at some point. Marv was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 59, and the United Congregational Christian Church, both in Lodi.
Marv is survived by his children; Kelly Wheeler (Gerald) of Galt, Ca., Brien Albers (Becky) from Eau Claire, WI; and Kim Kidson-Trigg (Christien) of Lodi, Ca. Grandchildren; Ryan Szichak, Kaleigh, and Lynzie Albers, Jadin, Alexandria, and Tyler Kidson-Trigg, one sister; Cora Matney of Sacramento, and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Albers, parents Grace and Raymond, sister Genevieve Albers and brother Delmer Albers.
Marvin will be laid to rest with Military Honors, during a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DAV, Chapter 59 or Wounded Warriors.
