Elizabeth L. Lamb

Elizabeth L. Lamb WATERVLIET- Elizabeth L. “Betty” Lamb, 86, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2014, at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, NY. Born in Troy, Mrs. Lamb was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Lebentritt, Sr. and Anna M. Dunne Lebentritt. She was raised in Poestenkill and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grammar School and Catholic Central High School both in Troy. Mrs. Lamb was married to her beloved husband, the Honorable Vincent A. Lamb, on September 1, 1950 following which, they resided in Watervliet and raised their family. Early in her life, Mrs. Lamb was employed as a secretary for Cluett, Peabody & Company in Troy. She later dedicated herself to her home and to the raising of her family and, in 1980, returned to work as the office manager for Lamb & Lamb, Attorneys at Law in Watervliet. She retired from there after a number of years of service. Mrs. Lamb was a long-time communicant of the former St. Brigid’s Church in Watervliet where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was a member of the “Nine of Hearts” Bridge Club in Watervliet and was a very talented artist whose artwork adorned the walls of the homes of her family. The Lamb family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center and the Eddy Village Green of Cohoes for the wonderful and dedicated care given to Betty over the years. In addition to her husband of 63 years, Mrs. Lamb is survived by her children, Mary Elizabeth Monteleon (Thomas), Honorable Thomas E. Lamb (Pamela), Ann R. Lamb and Joseph M. Lamb. She is also survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Vincent J. Lamb; her brothers, Joseph A. Lebentritt, Jr. and Edward J. Lebentritt and her sister, Anna M. Ballard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Lamb on Friday morning at 10:30 o’clock in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Church, 25th Street at 7th Avenue, Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. There will be no public calling hours at the funeral home.
