AGAWAM - Elizabeth A. Loughman, 16, of Main Street was called home to Heaven Wednesday. She died after a long battle from injuries sustained in a skiing accident on February 28. Elizabeth was a junior at the Agawam High School where she played soccer and Lacrosse and belonged to the International Student Exchange Club. She loved her part-time work for Dr. Stephen Jacapraro. She always had a smile on her face and brought joy to everybody she came in contact with. Beth leaves her parents David and Diane (Jordan) Loughman of Agawam; a sister Kim Pierce and her husband Paul of Westfield; a brother Scott Loughman and his wife Mary of Chicopee; her grandmothers Alberta Jordan and Cecile Loughman both of Chicopee; her nieces Allison, Kiersten and Olivia Pierce and her nephew Andrew Page. She was loved by 18 aunts and uncles and 23 cousins. She will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to have known her. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church Monday at 10am followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee. Beth's visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth A. Loughman Fund c/o Agawam Federal Credit Union 4 Washington Ave. Ext. Agawam, 01001.

All my deepest sympathies to the Loughman family...I used to work at Friendlys with Dave, Kim and Scott, and every once in a while Elizabeth would come in and be everyone's little helper. She would earn tips by delivering drinks for us and help clean tables. She was 6 years old at the time, my thoughts are with the whole family as i knew you all well...

Dear David & Diane: I spent a wonderful evening with Beth last summer during a sleep-over visit with Jess and Nikki. We played cards. I'm so glad I got to better know this amazing girl. Her cousins really looked up to her. My heart breaks for you!
