Elizabeth Colson Lyles of Missouri City, Texas, was born on August 5, 1947 to parents Joseph Colson and Catherine Conant, in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. She was married to Mr. Nathaniel Lyles. She was the mother of Desie Nitsch, Ed Metoyer, Jr. and Stephanie King. She departed this life on October 8, 2024.

She was an advocate for the Missouri City community. She worked with former TX Senator Rodney Ellis, campaigned for Ft. Bend County Democratic Chair, Steve Brown, and Mayor Yolanda Ford. She was a board member of Quail Green HOA and was instrumental in the dedication of Freedom Tree Park and expansion of the Juneteenth celebration in Missouri City.

She is cherished in memory by those who remain: her husband, Nathaniel Lyles; sister, Roxanne Colson; brother, James Conant, Jr.; children Desie Nitsch, Edward Metoyer, Jr., and daughter Stephanie King; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of extended family, and friends.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am, October 18th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 Fifth Street, Missouri City, TX, 77489. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association: www.alz.org.
