Thomasville - Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Shockey) McBride, 79, passed away at her residence on Saturday, September 1, 2018. She was the wife of Arthur L. "Dude" McBride who died on February 16, 2010. Betty and her husband had celebrated 54 years of marriage on October 21, 2009.

Mrs. McBride was born on June 24, 1939 in Monense, Ill., daughter of the late Charles Shockey and Martha (Babb) Shockey Miller.

Betty was employed by the former Pensupreme and retired after 25 years at the South York Diner.

She was a member of the Seven Valleys Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and their Friday Morning Coffee Club. Betty enjoyed playing bingo and traveling.

Survivors include three sons, Jeffery McBride and his wife, Carolyn of Dover, Danny McBride and his wife, Vickie of York and Tommy McBride of Thomasville; two daughters, Peggy Diffenderfer of Seven Valleys and Penny Monroe and her husband, Bryan of York New Salem; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Judith Wetzel of Spring Grove and Karen Gigowski of Michigan; several nieces and nephews, and her partner in crime, her Pamapoo, Buttons. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry McBride; granddaughter, Sheri Diffenderfer; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Wolfe) McBride; sister Virginia Cox; and her step father, Deal Miller.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be Pastor Donald K. Alspaugh, Chaplain from White Rose Hospice. Final resting place will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be viewings at the funeral home, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.

I do not even know what to say. Aunt Betty was a loving woman that everyone loved being around. She is already greatly missed by so many but we all know she is in a much better place with some other family. I love you Aunt Betty! RIP
