Elizabeth Jeanette McPherson, 93, of North Street, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 20, 2017, following a short illness.

She was born on October 21, 1923 in Detroit, daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Bourke.

Elizabeth married Melburn R. McPherson. He preceded her in death.

She loved her children and family. Elizabeth especially enjoyed going to the cottage in Caseville. She worked at Detroit Edison, Mueller Brass and at The German Gardens which was owned by her parents.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susanne "Susie" (James Matthew) Haacke of North Street; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph (Cari) McPherson of Kimball; son, William McPherson of Port Huron; son, Duane McPherson of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren: Denise Haacke, Elizabeth (Corey) Smith, Katie (Jason) Gonzalez, Ranae (Jeff) Heuer and Jonathon Johnston; great-grandchildren: Maryellen Poppell, Jaeden Gonzalez, Hudson Heuer, Parker Heuer, Everett Heuer, Graham Heuer and Nathan Johnston.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 3292 Beach Road, Port Huron.

Cremation has taken place per Elizabeth's wishes. Arrangements are in care of Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron.

Memorial tributes may be made to the American Heart Association.
