Elizabeth (Betty) Molinelli
August 6, 1939 - September 14, 2014
Passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 after a long illness with her loving family and dearest friends at her side.
Betty is survived by two daughters Michele Ruberto (John) and Nikki Molinelli-Stevenson (Joe) and four lovely granddaughters Cristan and Kathryn (Michele) and Liana and Viviana (Nikki). She is also survived by her loving partner of 20 years Dick Neisius.
She was born on August 6, 1939 in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder, was a Phi Beta Kappa and awarded the Key of Knowledge. While in college, she met her husband Leon "Mo" Molinelli, to whom she was married for 36 years until his death in 1993. While raising a family with Mo, she also led a very accomplished life. She was a high school history teacher, business owner for 23 years of two successful Marin based clothing boutiques called "Secret Hang-Ups", volunteered faithfully for many years at Pleasant Valley Elementary School, delivered 'Meals on Wheels' to the sick, elderly and needy in the San Rafael Canal area and gave tiny Christmas trees and gifts on her own to this community to increase their cheer and joy at Christmas time.
She was a world traveler with her final trip being to India and Bhutan, an avid athlete putting many to shame in her athletic determination and devotion daily without fail, an abundant gardener arranging and sharing beautiful homemade bouquets with everyone and an expert jam maker from blackberries she picked herself. She was highly involved in her church serving on the child care board and cheerfully sang in the choir year after year. She will be deeply missed by all the people whose lives she graced with fun, laughter, optimism and warmth.
A Celebration of Life was held in her honor on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Presbyterian Church of Novato. Donations may be made in her honor to Hospice by the Bay and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Arrangements made under the care of Eggen & Lance Chapel, Santa Rosa, CA 707-545-3747.
