Dear Dick and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She was such a lovely person, and I admired your love and devotion to each other and to Wesley UMC. I remember Betty always had something she made to contribute to the annual Harvest, even though you and Betty were headed to FL. She made a point to stay involved and help the church whenever she was in Massachusetts. My sympathies and warm regards, Lorna Mattus-Merrill, retired Church Business Administrator.

My late husband,Dick and I met Betty and Dick at the University of Maine and have been friends since. Our most recent good times were attending Boston Red Sox games in Fort Myers with UMaine alums. Betty and I had great memories from good times as waitresses during college years at The Oakland House" on the coast of Maine. We kept in touch all through the years with family happenings.

My favorite memory of long ago was the fun and secrets we had while working at the Oakland House in Maine during UMaine days!

I worked with Betty for twenty years at DPHS and we carpooled for many years as well. We shared a love for Maine and also for the students we tried to help. I was a guidance counselor and often she would come to discuss students about whom she was concerned. She was a good friend and in Judaism we would say, "A woman of valor."
So sorry for your loss.

To Dick and family, so very sorry for your loss. Betty was a kind, gentle sweet person, but strong. I knew her for all the years she worked at DPHS. She was always kind and very helpful to faculty and students. Although soft spoken, she ruled the library with an iron hand. Everyone respected her. She was the Best. My deepest condolences, Chris Miller, retired David Prouty teacher

I have very fond memories with Grammy Betty! As her youngest granddaughter, I got to spend special time having her and Grampy watch us while my parents were away, often enjoying Burger King, fruity Lifesavers in the car, and making homemade ice cream. Later, I enjoyed sharing our mutual love of reading and discussing the latest books we each read. We feel very blessed to be witness to my grandparents 67 years of love, partnership, and marriage - when they were together, they were always holding each other´s hands and making sure the other was taken care of. While we will miss her dearly, we are blessed to have gotten so many great years with her and to know she´s in Heaven watching over us. Love, Reilly and Matt
