Elizabeth ""Lizzie' Schaller, 88 Greenbush, MN died Tuesday in Greenbush Nursing Home. Lizzie Schaller, was born Elizabeth Mary Burkel, the daughter of Peter Sr. and Rose (Kulas) on April 21, 1916 at Greenbush, MN. She grew up and attended school at Greenbush. She married John Schires in 1935. They operated a general store in Greenbush for a short time and then farmed west of Greenbush in Dewey Township for many years. John died in 1975. She continued to live on the farm until 1989. Elizabeth was married to Raymond Schaller on June 2, 1989 at Sisseton, South Dakota.They lived on his farm west of Greenbush in Hereim Township until she entered the Greenbush Nursing Home. Elizabeth loved doing crafts and enjoyed playing cards. Survived by: Husband - Raymond, 2 brothers - Matt and wife Helen Burkel of Badger, MN and Tony Burkel of San Juan, Texas. 1 sister - Susie Schires of Greenbush, MN. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and their wives - George and Eva Burkel, John and Isabelle Burkel, Peter Jr. & Lillian Burkel, a brother-in-law - Ed Schires and a sister-in-law - Pauline Burkel. Funeral Services will be held on Sat. at 11 a.m. in the United Free Lutheran Church of Greenbush. Visitation will be Friday after 6 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service in Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush, and one hour before services in church. Interment will be in Blessed Sacrament Cemetery of Greenbush. Gieseke Funeral Chapel, Greenbush, MN.
