Elizabeth Stilwell

Elizabeth C. Stilwell 1929 - 2007 SPRINGFIELD - Elizabeth C. (Shea) Stilwell, 77, of Springfield passed away on Friday January 12, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Springfield on December 20, 1929 a daughter of the late Michael J. and Catherine J. (Sullivan) Shea and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. Elizabeth was employed as a sales clerk at the former Steiger's department store in downtown Springfield. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and was a life member of the Women's Auxillary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 70, both in Springfield. Elizabeth was predeceased by a son, David Stilwell. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Samuel D. "Sam" Stilwell; her children, Sam Stilwell and his wife Marina of Thompson, CT, Daniel Stilwell and his wife Sandy of Jacksonville, FL, Chris Stilwell and his wife Beatriz of Sunrise, FL, Patrick Stilwell and his wife Lois of Austin, TX, Mary E. Stilwell of San Diego, CA, Donna Stilwell, and Kathryn Miller and her husband John, all of Richmond Hill, GA, and Elizabeth Levite and her husband Gary of Southwick, MA; a daughter in law, Mary A. Stilwell of Pembroke Pines, FL; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Amanda, Nicholas, Sarah, Brian, Zachary, Olivia, Michele, Victoria, Lauren, Vanessa, Evan, Samantha, Shannon, and Shellcie; her great granddaughter, Josie; her brother, Michael Shea and his wife Barbara of Lady Lake, FL; her sisters, Mary Anischik of Chicopee, and Jean Bushey and her husband Donald of Springfield; and her many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 17th at 8:15 a.m. from the Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, both in Springfield, followed by Rites of Committal in the Committal Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street in Agawam. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
