Dear David,
I was deeply saddened to hear about your loss of Betsy. While I did not know her extremely well, I always will remember her presence at all the school events with a warm smile and her kind words for me. Of course, I see the great qualities that everyone has mentioned about Betsy in Charlie's personality. May be he gets his 1,000 watt smile from his mother. Based on the comments about Charlie that I have heard from my son Rishabh over the last four years (“Mama, even Charlie could not do it!”), I am sure that Betsy will live a long long time through her children.
Despite how it feels now, having gone through similar circumstances, I know that all four of you will find tremendous strength within yourself - through faith, memories of Betsy, support of friends and family - to take care of yourself as well as each other. Slowly one day happy memories will take over the sad ones – I pray that day comes really soon.
I asked Rishabh if he has any advice. His response after deep thinking “Charlie will be fine mama. Of course, he will be sad sometimes. His dad is awesome. His brother and sister are awesome and he has a lot of friends that really really like him”
Our thoughts and prayers are always with you. God bless you,
Hema Gunasekaran (Rishabh's mom and a fellow HBS Alum that is so proud of Betsy's professional and personal accomplishments)

I had the honor to share a friendship with Betsy at St. Paul's School. Betsy and I were both from the same dorm , same class and enjoyed times of great devotion to Friendlys ice cream in Concord NH,scoping out cute boys at SPS before dances, laughing until we were crying over silly 16 year old things.. Betsy came and stayed with me at my familys winery, Jordan Winery, on several occasions as her dad skated at Charles Schultz ice arena ( near by) on many occasions.
I will remember Betsy as a vibrant, brilliant , energetic girl who had a dedication to academics and a loyalty to her friends. I LOVED her sense of humor and her joy of life.
If any off her beloved family find themselves in Northern California, please come visit at Jordan Winery ( the family winery) or my winery, J Vineyards and Winery.
I would love to share stories of your beloved daughter, wife, sister and mother. Betsy is truly one of the most special people I have ever known in my life.
The world is undoubtedly a better place because of Betsy.; I will miss her so very much.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was greatly saddened to learn of Betsy's illness and passing. I got to know Betsy while working with her at McKinsey. Even though it has been many years since I have seen her, she made a lasting impression on me as a thoroughly wonderful person. She was full of warmth, vitality, intelligence, and integrity. I know she was greatly beloved and I suspect she will be missed beyond words by many for years to come.

I am heartsick. Dave, my support and deepest condolences go to you and your children.
Betsy was a dear friend to me always. We met while working at McKinsey and she was a true friend in all ways. She could make any conversation interesting and delightful, even something mundane like talking about mattresses or ordering food became fun with her. She had an innate, unique blend of both class/good taste and humility. She was admirably thoughtful in her approach to life - making her choices carefully and then really investing herself in following those choices.
I can't say enough how much I will miss her. While we were not in contact as much over the past 2-3 years - she was always someone I could just reconnect with and it would be as if we hadn't been apart at all. Over the past few months I had been thinking about her a lot. Now, most sadly, I know why.
Dave you and your family are in my prayers.

I went to high school with David and learned about Betsy passing away from my mother who plays tennis with David's mother. I had the privilege of being one of Betsy's mentors at McKinsey, and a friend as well. She was such an intelligent, curious, accomplished woman, always looking to learn and contribute. I had not known about her illness so the very sad news came as a total shock. Her death is such a loss to all of us, and most deeply to her family, to whom I send my condolences.

Betsy, an amazing and beautiful soul, her spirit and kindness lives on in everyone she touched. I echo what Teresa said, she always asked me how I was doing with genuine care and concern, never letting on to her own suffering and while I would ask in return she always had something positive to say. I will miss her smile and kindness most. A star in heaven is burning brighter because Betsy is there shining down on those she loved most, David, Blake, Jackie & Charlie.

Betsy and I were roommates for 1 1/2 years during our twenties when we both worked for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. I remember those years so fondly, mostly because of Betsy's friendship. She was an amazing person, so intelligent, funny, warm and caring. I did not know Betsy was sick and am heartbroken that I had not reached out to her recently. My thoughts and prayers are with Blake, Jackie and Charlie as they grieve the loss of their very special mother and to Dave who has lost his beautiful wife. I know Betsy will watch over them and give them strength.
Rest in Peace my sweet Betsy

Dear David, Blake, Jackie, and Charlie,
I can only think of Betsy with a huge smile on her face and a wisecrack not far behind -- her wit and humor made it all so much fun. I know her spirit lives on in each of you -- you are her legacy and she will shine through. Love, strength, and courage for the tough days ahead.

Betsy and I were classmates at Harvard College and at Harvard Business School. We weren't especially close, but I feel fortunate to have learned that Betsy was battling cancer in October, and to have reached out and exchanged emails with her at that time.
Her positive energy shone through those email messages. She was so selfless, asking about what others were doing while she was in the fight for her life. She seemed to be comforting me, assuring me that everything would be fine. I could tell from those brief exchanges that she was facing this battle with strength and dignity - the same qualities with which she conducted her life.
My deepest condolences to her family, and especially to her children who have lost their mother at such a young age. You may not be old enough to appreciate the full range of qualities that your mother possessed, but I hope that through the years you will be able to learn more about your mother through those who knew her, and realize what an extraordinary woman she was, in all regards.
With my deepest sympathy,
Teresa
