BREAUX, ELLA JAY SCHEXNAYDER An angel was called home as she lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer Thursday, April 22, 2004. Ella Jay Schexnayder Breaux, age 50, a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, died at her home at 7 p.m. surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronnie Breaux, who passed away two years ago from a brain tumor; and her brother, Ronald "Tubby" Schexnayder. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rhett and Christina Breaux; a daughter, Janey Breaux and fiance David Todd; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kelvin and Wanda Schexnayder, Tim and Jill Schexnayder and Donald and Gwen Schexnayder; a grandson, Cade Joseph Breaux; parents, Leonce Jay and Elvina "Shootsie" Schexnayder; numerous nieces and nephews, special lifelong friends and other relatives. Visiting was at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, conducted by the Rev. Eugene Gullett. Burial in New River Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ross Morarty, Nolan Babin, Dwight Babin, Maurice Whitmer, Vernon Sykes and Percy Schexnayder. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Danny Venable, Jimmy "Rambo" Breaux and David Todd.
