Ella Hurst Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 3, 2025.
Ella June Hurst (née Fielding), age 78, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Clarkston, Michigan.

Born on June 27, 1946, in Lawrence Township, Ohio, Ella was the daughter of William and Evelyn Fielding (Ward). She grew up alongside her siblings and carried with her a deep appreciation for family and tradition throughout her life.

Ella built a fulfilling career. She retired from General Motors and later from Clarkston Schools, where she contributed her time and talents to the community she called home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl "Jerry" Hurst, her parents William and Evelyn Fielding, and her brother Dennis Fielding. Her memory lives on through those who loved her dearly.

Ella is survived by her sons Christopher Hurst and his wife Charlene, and Craig Hurst; her sister Peggy Kurz; grandson Andrew Hurst and his wife Kelsy along with their sons Finnley and Rhys; granddaughter Amber Williams and her husband Mike along with their children Skyler and Ashton.

Ella found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for gardening and antiquing-activities that reflected her appreciation for beauty, history, and nature. Time spent at the family cabin in Houghton Lake was especially dear to her heart. Above all else, Ella cherished moments shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

May Ella's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
