Ellen Marie Bollinger

Ellen Marie Bollinger, 76, of Cerritos, California, passed away on September 6, 2023. Born on February 18, 1947, in Lynwood, California, Ellen was the daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret Hawthorne. Her beloved husband of 38 years, Michael, died in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Hawthorne.

Ellen was a spirited and dedicated woman of great faith. She worked as a key punch operator, in education, and especially enjoyed her 25 years as a cast member at Disneyland. Ellen's vibrant personality and generosity made her a cherished friend and colleague to many.

She is survived by her son, Peter, and daughter-in-law, Shannon, her daughter, Toni Poppe, and son-in-law, Joshua. Ellen adored her grandchildren; Audrey, Skylar, Jackson, and Caleb, along with her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her treasured siblings; Joanne (Al) Foley, Joseph (Patricia) Hawthorne, and Kevin (Vicky) Hawthorne and in-laws William (Coleen) Bollinger, Philip (Susan) Bollinger, and Tina (Steve) Bollinger Brown.

Ellen was a lifelong member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Long Beach, California, where her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 10 am. Following the Mass, Ellen will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery, and a reception will be held at Lakewood Country Club.

Ellen's love and laughter with family and friends will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace.
