Ellen Hutson

Ellen Hutson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on October 16th. She is survived by her children: Diane Hutson, Delbert Hutson, Dawn Saddler, and Deanna Mihaly; sons-in-law: Mr. Saddler and John Mihaly; grandchildren: Kelly McGraw, Drake Saddler, Drew Hutson, Johnson Mihaly and Kaysen Hutson Rosemond; and great-granddaughter, Lana McGraw. Ellen was surrounded by family in her final moments and she will be remembered every day for the amazing woman that she was.

Ellen grew up alongside her parents, Clyde and Alice, and her siblings, Linda and Eric. Ellen attended Eastern Michigan University and, later, Strayer College. She married Delbert Hutson, Sr. and traveled as a Marine Corps wife. She worked as a clerk typist for the Forest Service, Graph Tech, and her favorite, the office of Colonel Benezra in the Pentagon. In semi-retirement, Ellen worked in the fabrics section of Wal-Mart. Ellen had many roles throughout her life: avid camper and Girl Scout troop leader; editor of local newsletters; skilled seamstress and craftswoman; and resale specialist. Ellen loved to read mysteries, watch British series, swim, play cards, dance, bake, paint figurines and gnomes, sew, and laugh with her family,

It would be impossible to overstate the impact that Ellen had on the lives of those who loved her. Her family saw her as a best friend, their special person in this world, someone they talked with every day and who accompanied each person on their unique journey. Her grandchildren describe her as an infinitely kind person that saw them for who they are, listened, and shared with them her intelligence, knowledge, and quirky humor.

Ellen, Nellie, Graham Cracker, Mamá, Ellie - she was deeply loved.
