Ellen and I first met in 1968 whenI was dating her brother Laurie. We were both just 18 and were just beginning our new careers as Elementary school teachers. From that moment on, our lives took a parallel path. We both taught school until our children were born. We both had three children, two boys and a girl.
As the years passed, we kept in touch only sporadically because of life's demands, but when her brother Laurie became very ill, she was a great support for me. After Laurie passed away, we became very close friends. We were in touch nearly every day. I'm going to miss her very much. I've caught myself going to call her several times this past week. Her death is a great loss for me.

I was friends in elementary school with Ellen and enjoyed listening to her playing violin. I also knew her husband.
I am so saddened to hear of her passing. May she rest ín peace.
