Ellen U. Templin

EAST MOLINE-Ellen U. Templin, 80, of East Moline, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded, and a private graveside service will be held.
Ellen was born on February 14, 1943, to Friedrich and Charlotte Mussmann in Hann Munden, Germany. She moved to America when she was 12 years old. In 1972, she married the love of her life, Richard Templin.
She retired from John Deere after being employed with them for many years. After her retirement, she worked at Jumers (Bally's) Casino. Ellen really enjoyed reading and going to the casino, playing the slots and hitting big jackpots. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Templin is survived by her children; Dan (Janet) Wiley, San Diego, CA, Todd (Satoko) Wiley, Tokyo, Japan, Tammy (Tim) Fisher, Geneseo, IL, Rick (Courtney) Templin, Burlington, MA; grandchildren, Marissa (KC) Kruger, Rachel (Myles Echenique) Wiley, Nathan Wiley, Koki Wiley, Tyler Fisher, Tarah Fisher, Adam Templin and Julia Templin; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Rowan Kruger; sister, Diana (Ed) Bork, Loves Park, IL, and three nieces.
Her parents, beloved husband, Richard "Dick" Templin, and step-father, Thomas Childress preceded her in death.

I just heard about Ellen today and I want to send my sincere condolences to the family. I worked with her at Jumer's and she was so very nice and helpful to me. I know she will be missed by many and I know she is healthy and happy and whole once more now. God bless the family.
