Ellen Tharp Obituary

SELINSGROVE - Ellen E. Tharp, 80, of Park Avenue, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at her home.
She was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Coal Township, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mildred (Krebs) Johns. On Jan. 17, 1948, she married Frank P. Tharp, who preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1999.
Mrs. Tharp attended Coal Township area schools.
She was employed at Shroyers in Shamokin and later worked part-time with her husband.
She attended Shamokin Dam Alliance Church.
Mrs. Tharp enjoyed watching television. She also collected dolls and had a large assortment of shoes.
The loves of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed spending time with her dog, Abbey.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Gay L. and John Kremer of Selinsgrove; two grandchildren, John Kremer Jr. and Theresa Flory and her husband Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth and Emily Rose Flory; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Dawn and Robert Hoffman and Beverly and Robert Progansky, all of Paxinos, Carole and King Kaseman and Joyce and Melvin Reed, all of Coal Township, and Bonnie and Richard Hawley of Schuylkill Haven; one brother and sister-in-law, Burt and Esther Johns of Shamokin Dam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, was a sister, Mildred Reed.
Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, where the funeral will be conducted at 11.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
