I was very saddened to hear recently of Elly's passing from Rob Suykens. I remember Elly as a very kind person who made sure she knew everyones name and what they did when visiting the office. "Back in the day", Elly would also come to the site in Canmore on occasion to clean all the receipts out of Matts truck. Sincere condolences to the rest of the Haasen family. I was so saddened to hear of Elly's passing. My heart goes out to Matt and family and especially to Kyle. I knew Elly through RVUC when I worked there for 4 years. In those 4 years I got to know Elly for her passion for life, love and the game of golf. Her office reflected these passions. You will be greatly missed but forever remembered. Rob and I had the incredible pleasure of celebrating family, friends and good times with Elly, Matt, Denise, Dave, Debbie and all the kids on New Year's Day.
We swapped stories, shared laughs, grooved to the Black Eyed Peas and devoured Denise's yummy home cooking. It was a wonderful, wonderful time.
Elly, even while obviously not feeling her best, radiated positive energy, a zest for life and a deep pride and love for her family. To witness and share this tight-knit bond, never to be broken, was a gift we'll always remember.

I have had the real pleasure of working with Elly from about the mid 70's in London , Ontario until and for a few years after she made the big move to Calgary . Although I haven't
seen Elly for a few years her laugh , her beautiful smile and her joy of life and her work ethic will always be with me .

Elly was a good friend to me in my teen years. I remember visiting the farm on Friday nights, watching Hawaii-Five-O and reading Nancy Drew mysteries. Elly was such a fast reader. I always wanted to keep up...never could, although I did become a faster reader because of her.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Elly, however I do know Kyle and Peter whom I want to send my heartfelt condolences to.
