To Avanelle, Avery and Adia,

Your mother was an angel on vacation. She reached out her arms to care for all of us growing up. I was one of the young ladies she sponsored as an AKA Debutante in 1993. Each year I am reminded of what she did and committed to our chapter's Debutante Cotillion. Take one day at a time as you go through your time of bereavement. We will all have to walk this way one day. Be strong in the Lord in the power of His might, knowing that each day- He will provide. Love you and God bless...

To Eloise's family:

My prayers and thoughts are with you. Eloise was a wonderful woman who will live on through your daily actions. Over the last few weeks, I have thought of her often. As a child, I spent many summers with my cousins Heather and Holli at Eloise's house swimming and having fun. Along with Avanelle, Adia, Van, Avery and the Beverly children. Eloise opened up her home and hearts to all of us. What is most special to me is when she sponsored me as a 1990 Nu Gamma Omega Debutante for AKA. I'll never forget that time in my life and her encouragement for me to do so. Sleep well, Eloise.

To the Jack and Ferdinand Families:

I met Elouise in January 1985. She has always been the same person, pleasant, encouraging, comforter, loving. I can remember all the times that she would say; if you could not pronounce Alpha Kappa Alpha correctly just say AKA. I miss her so much. When I served as the first president of Phi Sigma Omega Chapter in Gonzales; she would always give me my boost to move forward despite the circumstances. I know her favorite bible verse was acknowledge the Lord in all your ways....; I extend my deepest sympathy and May God continue to make you and the GRANDS strong is my prayer. In Deepest Sympathy

Mrs. Katherine F. Bynum & Fly,

Death teaches us much about life it teaches us that God has no favorites no one is over looked. Death teaches another lesson; the true nature of life it's a constant reminder that what we seek in life is only temporary unless it originates with God who is eternal.

When the ship of death makes an unexpected stop on these shores of life do not fear because our Father is Captain of the boat. When death comes to a loved one in our family it a time to reexamine our values and strength our purpose in life death is inevitable but so is eternal life for those who obey the will of God.

One of the joys of becoming an AKA is that it brings wonderful women into your life. That is how I met Soror Eloise Jack and became immediately impressed with her. She was a shining star, I was a shadow, but she always treated me to her wonderful smile. On occasions when both chapters meet , we would converse, even if just for a minute. I shall miss Soror Eloise just as her family and Nu Gamma Omega does.

She was a wonderful person and lived a wonderful and productive life. Sleep well, My Soror.

To Arthur,Elouis's Children, the Ferdinands and other family members

I know this has been a hard time for your family. Remember to keep your hand in God hand for “earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

As a freshman at SU, one of my teachers had us read the “Book of Job”. Job endured much suffering but did not lose his faith in God. Whence, bad thing or crisis in my life, I remember how Job kept his faith. You are still in God plan; remember to keep your faith.

I remember Eloise, as the girl from Cohn High School that Mama trained for the Rallies. She married my home boy, Arthur and she’s my Soror, my sister. I will remember her smile and our conversation about our grandchildren. I will remember her in our prayers.

The Ferdinand and Jack familes;

It is with our deepest sympathy that we extend to each of you our condolences and prayers.

Father, I thank You that we have a High Priest Who is able to understand and sympathize and have a fellow feeling with these families' weaknesses and infirmities over the loss of Eloise. Therefore, I fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace; that these families may receive mercy and find grace to help in good time for every need - appropriate and well-timed help, coming just when they all need it.

Father, I thank You that these families do not sorrow, as one who has no hope, because they believe that Jesus died and rose again; even so that their loved one also who sleeps in Jesus will God bring back with Him. I ask that You comfort these families, for You said, Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted (Matt. 5:4).

Jesus, You have come to heal the brokenhearted. It is in the name of Jesus that You, Father, comfort these families because You have loved them and have given them everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts these families in all their tribulations, that they may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort wherewith they themselves are comforted by God.

Father, thank You for appointing unto these families, who mourns in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You might be glorified.

In Jesus' name, amen

A Bright New World

by

Helen Steiner Rice

We feel so sad when those we love

Are touched by deaths dark hand,

Bu it would ease our sorrow

If we could but understand

That death is just a gateway

That all men must pass through

And on the other side of death,

In a world that's bright and new,

Our loved ones wait to welcome us

To that land free from tears

Where joy becomes eternal

And time is not counted by years.

Eloise was a God Sent and loving lady, you are very blessed to have had her as your wife, sister mother, grandmother and friend. Eloise could make you feel love, even when you thought it was not there. She will be truly missed and Words will never be able to expressed the grief, sorrow and the void that you may feel in your hearts right now, but remember that God Know Best. I first met Eloise through our cousin Joanna Ferdinand Dillon about 10 years ago, and found out through family history that we were related. I am related through the Ledoux's to the Ferdinands. "To whom much is given, much is required"

Soror Eloise was a lady blessed with great faith, intelligence, and GOD given talents and abilities. As "required" she answered the call over and over reaching out to others always planning, organizing, building, and giving of herself 110%.

She was devoted in every sense of the word to her GOD, her family, her church, her sorority, and anything else she became involved in.

She will surely be missed but she has left an indelible mark for others to follow.

So family continue to "Trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding" .

At this time when there are no words that can ease the sorrow of your loss, sympathy and care though unspoken are still there.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Arthur V. Jack, Sr. & Family

Diana and I extend our sincere sympathy to you and your family at this time of your sorrow. There are no words to truly express our deep condolence. But, I would like to leave with you these words of Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble."

Wow...it's very hard to believe that this has happened. We all thought that she was going to make it. We ask ourselves and God "why?" "how?"...but we know that all things work together for good to those who love God. To those that are called according to HIS purpose. How do we know this...because Romans 8:28 says so.

Eloise helped me to locate my biological parents last summer. She would always give me updates and share new family information with me. Biologically, we are related, but I don't remember how...cousins, I think. Anyhow, she always cared about me and how I handled myself after I met my birth parents. I will be eternally grateful to her for that.

In this difficult time, I pray for God's power and might to fill each one of her family members. I will always remember what Avanelle said at choir rehearsal..."My mom made a choice to go to Heaven." It is also our choice to do the same. We know that if we want to see Eloise again, we must all pull it together. Time is not as long as it has been or as short as it will be.

Arthur, please be strong. Avery, Van, Adia, Avanelle, your mother was and is a remarkable woman. Grandkids, you can smile knowing that MeMe is always watching you. She lives with Jesus now. Heaven, that place she was teaching you about, is a reality. You will see her again. To my little friend, Riyon, it's going to be okay really soon. When you're feeling better, we will go on our "date"...I promise.

The choir, children's ministry, and our lives will not be the same without her, but our lives are enriched just the same because she was there.

May God comfort and keep you during your time of need. It is always hard losing a loved one, but God offers comfort beyond compare. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble (Psalms 9:9). God bless and keep you is my prayer.
