To the Gauthier Family:
Butch was a wonderful friend and he created many outstanding memories for us on Big Lake. Each time we walk down to the dock at Mugg's place, we think of Butch constructing the wonderful steps. He is sadly missed. Our hearts continue to go out to Karen, Tom & Al and the entire family.

Dear Karen, Al, and Tom,
Brad and I were so sorry to hear about Butch. We have so many wonderful and fun memories of him from our Long Lake days. He was always smiling in our memories. And, to this day, I still think of both of you when I hear "Elvira".
Please accept our sincere sympathy and condolences. We will remember you all in our prayers.
Love, Dolly & Brad

Dearest Karen, Allen and Tom,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I have always been very fond of Butch. I remember the days when the two of you were first married and I would visit in west Duluth near Shopper's City. He was always a great conversationalist and demonstrated his humor and wonderful character. He will be missed by many. With deepest sympathy and hugs. Cousin Patty

Aunt Karen and cousins Tom and Al,
I am so sorry that uncle Butch has left this life so early. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow. I pray you find strength in your wonderful memories. And remember that although his human life has ended, his spiritual life lives on forever. My mother is very heartbroken that her brother has passed and that her health prevents her from coming to Duluth to so she can be with you all. Please know that my mom, dad, Kirk, Kim, Kelly and I are all thinking of you and sending prayers.

To Elroy's family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Elroy at Northern Drug. He was a really good guy. I enjoyed working with him very much. He always had a smile on his face.

Our most favorite uncle will be missed so very badly. We want to send our deepest sympathies to Auntie Karen, Cousin Al and Tom, and their extended families. There seems to be no words of comfort to ease the pain of losing someone we love, but there will always be the wonderful memories. Uncle Butch was always ready to help us out, especially with all the changes we made to our house. From the start (13 yrs. ago or more) He helped Brandt install a new front window in the house we live in today. With his help we were able to buy our house because the old window was cracked and didn't pass inspection. He was the one that always took the longest to eat x-mas dinner at grandma and grandpa Smith's, we couldn't open presents til he was done! He always loved to "cut the rug" at family weddings....what a good dancer. He and auntie Karen came the past few years to our house to to celebrate the holidays and spread some cheer, we always felt so honored to have them here. How about the boat rides out on the lake? Or the pontoon rides? It didn't matter what time of day he always made me and my family feel welcome...always. These are just a few of my special memories with uncle Butch, the best uncle there ever was. God speed, love always, Brandt and Melanie Parteka

Karen, Al, and Tom,
Uncle Butch was an amazing uncle to us and a wonderful brother to my Mom and Dad. He was always there to let a hand and to lend a shoulder. Knowing Uncle Butch and Aunt Karen were there made us feel safe and secure when Dad had his health issues. We will miss him so very much and he holds a special place in our hearts. Brian and I send our love and prayer. We love you guys.
