Else NELLES Obituary
June 8, 1916 - July 14, 2012
Elsie was born the youngest of 11 children on June 8, 1916 to Michael and Christine Elgert in Kladau, Germany.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ken Nelles (1982) and survived by her children, Shirley Eikerman and Joan McFaul Wildeman. She is much loved by her six grandchildren, Candis Eikerman (Rod), Steven Eikerman (Michelle), Kevin Eikerman (Louise), Mark McFaul (Wendy), Warren McFaul (Kim) and Patrick Wildeman. She leaves a legacy of nine great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
Elsie arrived in Wetaskiwin via Mexico with her family in 1929 to join her older brothers in the Bittern Lake area. She married Ken in 1935 and lived and worked on the family farm, eventually moving into Wetaskiwin. She was known as "Grandma" to all the neighborhood kids and instigator of practical jokes to her family. She remains as always, the much loved center of our families.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Chapel 5302 - 50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, Alberta with interment taking place at Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S. 29 Airport Road, Building #16 Edmonton, Alberta T5G 0W6.
