Funeral services for Elsie Corbett, 98, a Killeen resident since 1979, will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood Rd. in Killeen, Texas, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00pm.
Mrs. Corbett passed away January 20, 2018 at Cornerstone Gardens Nursing Home in Temple, Texas. Elsie was born in 1919, in Orange County, Indiana the tenth of thirteen children of Elijah and Belle Walls. She was united in marriage to Earmel Corbett on September 4, 1937. He preceded her in death in June 1990. Elsie was a loving wife and mother with strong Christian beliefs who enjoyed sewing, quilting, making crafts, and taking care of her flowers and plants. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and cherished family gatherings where she enjoyed a great meal and a friendly game of cards.
She is survived by one sister, Maggie Thacker, of Paoli, Indiana, and six children and their spouses, Freida Cox of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Judy (Glenn) Michalk, Harker Heights, Texas, Danny Corbett, Copperas Cove, Texas, Debbie (Charles) Nickle, Liberty Hill, Texas, Tony (Sherie) Corbett, Georgetown, Indiana, and Jeff (Becky) Corbett, Sellersburg, Indiana. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 6 great- great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity.
The family will receive visitor from 1:00- 2:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home
