Elsie DeSantelo, 86, of Raritan died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Born in Union City, she was a life-long resident of Raritan Borough. Mrs. DeSantelo worked for Johnson & Johnson for 20 years, retiring in 1988 as the Maintenance Supervisor. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Raritan and a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries for both the Green Knoll Fire Department and Raritan Relief Hose Co. #1. Elsie also enjoyed fresh water fishing. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles. Surviving are her loving daughter, Joyce Fritchie and husband, William W. of Raritan; her two cherished grandchildren, Dr. Karen Fritchie of Durham, NC and William C. and wife, Dana of Woodbridge; beloved great-grandson, Lincoln; beloved brother, Eugene Leoncavallo and wife, Nancy of Virginia; beloved sister, Irma Pehnke of Bridgewater; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by an 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 16 E. Somerset Street, Raritan. Entombment will follow in St. Bernard Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Viewing hours will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Elsie's memory to Fisher House Foundation, Inc., 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850-5168. www.fisherhouse.org This organization helps provide military families a 'home away from home' so they may be close to their loved ones who are injured or ill.
