Elsie M. Hellerich

LINCOLN – Elsie Marie Hellerich, 89, of Lincoln, formerly of Valparaiso, died Dec. 20 in Lincoln.
Hellerich was born on March 23, 1921, to Louis and Anna (Woita) Kavan in Valparaiso.
She married George D. Hellerich.
She was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society, Valparaiso Women's Club, Nite Owl Extension Club, Valparaiso Quilters and Village Library Board. She was a Saunders County 4-H leader and faithful American Red Cross blood donor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Stanley and Phillip Kavan; and sisters, Lillian Kavan, Celestine Polacek.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ellen Hellerich of Valparaiso; daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Dean Brunson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Pat Schied of Lincoln and Celia Sherman of Valparaiso; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 23 at Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Valparaiso with Msgr. Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial was at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach or Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church.
Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln was in charge of the arrangements.
