Elton C. Pody

Ms. Pody, the last time I heard Mr. Pody's voice was the Friday before his death. He had left a message for me asking for help for someone else and during the last conversation we shared He took time to lift my spirits and talk of God's love for us all. I am a firm believer that God puts people in our lives for a specific purpose. And I also believe God put Mr. Elton in my life to teach me patience, to help me appreciate the gift of friendship and to focus on God. I am blessed to have known and called Mr. Elton friend.

I'm sad to hear about Elton's passing. It's too bad that we are so far apart in miles and don't stay in touch. I have thought of you often. Blessings to you all!

I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Elton. It has been a long time since I have seen any of you but your family holds a very special place in my heart. My love and prayers are with you all as you face this loss.

Sherry, Larry and I have been keeping up with Elton's progress for some time and was so saddened by his demise. Just know that we have prayed and God had other plans, of which I am sure, will be understood when you meet Christ yourself. Larry developed back and leg pain Monday and is still lingering today. Our thoughts are with your family but I know that God will comfort you! We love You!

My encounters with Mr. Pody, were all to few and most often involved a duckblind and a sunrise. I never once heard the southern gentlemen complain, and he missed many an opportunity given our frigid Kansas winters.
The one thing that struck me - is how admired and loved he was by his grandchildren. The mutual respect (and admiration) Elton shared with his grandson, Caleb Haygood moved me.

Through the struggle of Elton's illness here on earth your family's faith and love for God was consistent and spoke to many. May God wrap His loving arms around the family at this time and comfort you. Many Blessings to you all, brenda (holley)

Our town's lights are dimmer today with Elton's passing. He was a loyal, devoted citizen that influenced others strictly for his community. He never put himself first. He always amazed me with his "behind the scenes" impact.

My condolences to the family. Elton was always cooperative and informative when I was with KALB-TV. He was a fine gentleman. Alexandria is a bettter place because of him.

There are so many words to describe Elton - loving, gentlemanly, wonderful, kind, etc..., but the one that comes to my mind the most is loved. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him, loved him. He was like a big teddy bear. You all are in my thoughts and prayers; however, I can't help but smile when I think of Elton right now. No pain, no tears, no needles just almost running seeing all the sights, meeting all the people, singing, and above all seeing our Heavenly Father. Sherry and family, I know you will miss him greatly, but he has only taken a little journey that you will join him soon. I love you dearly, and so glad God brought us together one more time after about 30 years to see each other again. Love to you all -

Know that you are all in my prayers. The time I spent in Ruston, becoming a part of your family, will always be one of the most treasured times in my life. What a magnificent example Elton left for us to follow! And what joy to KNOW we'll see him again. I love you all.

Praying God's presence strengthens and supports you through your grief. Elton was always kind and considerate toward me, demonstrating the character of God. With deepest sympathy you remain in my prayers.
