Elva Taylor Spearen Mahoney, age 81, passed away on August 26, 2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on August 2, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frank Hamilton and Prescilla Mills Taylor. Elva grew up in Park City and attended Park City High. She married Horace F. Spearen in 1943, there she lived and raised her family. She owned and operated a Norge Village Laundromat before moving to Salt Lake City. She loved to sew, crochet, knit, bowl, camp, and gambling. She worked for Singer Company over 20 years and continued with House of Fabrics until retiring. She enjoyed several winters in Lake Havasu. She is survived by her husband Ron Mahoney, daughters; Cheryle (Gary) Mason, Frankie (Ron) Greenleaf, granddaughters; Terrie, Rachael, grandsons; Marty, Shane, Kirk, great-grandchildren; Jamie, Amanda, Claudia, Millie, Audrey, Hailey, Andrew, Brandon, Tyler, Matthew, great-great grandchildren; Makayla, Logan, Raylee. She was preceded in death by parents, husband Horace, sisters; Edna, Priscilla, brothers; James, Roy, Harold, granddaughter; Jacqueline, grandson; Scott, great-granddaughter; Shayna. Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 am at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, August 29, from 6-8 pm at Memorial Mortuary and one hour prior to service. Interment at Mt Olivet, 1342 East 500 South.
