It all started when I was 5 years old at JB Stevens Elementary And I met him in person and his office I would say, at least once every two weeks, he was my principal later on a mentor and an exceptional man I seen him last at the Texas Realty office, and we had a conversation about my brother that passed away in 1988 and we had many laughs and hugged, and there is no doubt in my mind that he is in heaven and I appreciate the time and the person he was in is still today in my life he will be in my spirit in my soul forever and ever may he rest in peace and we rejoice at the wonderful things that he did in his community and his students. Love you forever and always grateful for the time we had with you on this earth my condolences to the family and may God bless you in each and every way may we all walk in the sunlight of the spirit together in unity and community for restoration and regeneration for our future in Jesus holy name amen .....
Sincerely,
Kitten Kelly

Elvin was my friend from first grade in 1949, up until he went to dwell in the Promised Land. I hope to see him there. He was kind to everyone, gave us all a hard time, and had a smile that lit up a room. His close relationship to God was always apparent to us; we never heard a negative statement from him. No telling how many students he influenced during his teaching career. He will be missed.
