Elvin Benton "Al" Moore

Elvin Benton "Al" Moore, passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 71 in Phoenix, AZ. Born on April 6, 1953, in Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Al dedicated 44 years of his life as a Journeyman Baker at Holsum Bakery. He was a respected member of BC&T Union 232 and held the Shop Steward chair for most of those years. He was well known at the bakery for his strong work ethic and integrity.

Al's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by Jacquelynn Moore, his loving wife of fifty-two years, his daughters, Jenny Mackay, Terry Moore, and Natalie Moore, as well as his brothers Hobert "Bud" Moore Jr., and Gordon Moore. He is also survived by and was a proud Papa to Crystina, Mason, Alyssa, Izabella, and Nathan, and his great grandchildren, Odin, Salem, Weslynn, Aura, and Solace.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert "Bert" Moore Sr., his son Wesley Benton Moore and his brother-in-law and best friend, William "Bill" Van Dine.

Those who knew Al well, will remember his great advice, his quick wit and his deep sense of loyalty. His passions included hunting and taking long drives.

A celebration of life will be held on October 26th, 2024, from 3 pm to 6 pm in the assembly room of the Freestone Recreation Center in Gilbert, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to assist with costs, which can be sent via Venmo to @Jenny-Mackay-1. Al's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family will forever be cherished and remembered. He will be greatly missed.
