Emil Priemer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2006.
Emil "Pudd" Priemer, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Medical Center of Independence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Emil's name to Crescent Creek Community Church, 9507 E. 59th St., Raytown, MO 64133 or your favorite charity. Emil was born May 13, 1926 to Emil and Ruth Priemer. He was raised in the Armordale area of Kansas City, Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII as a Radioman. Emil married the love of his life, Anna Marie Young, on February 28, 1948 and together raised five children. He was a member of the Waldo Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #76. Emil was a "Mr. Fix-It" and found unique ways to make or repair almost anything, most notable TV's. He used these skills at his job as a maintenance worker for the Lake City Army and Ammunition Plant, where he worked for over 25 years until his retirement in 1983. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and as he aged took great joy in his family, especially his grandchildren. "Papa" lived life on his own terms and told it like it was, whether you liked it or not! He will be sorely missed by all. His wife, Anna Marie, of the home survives him, as do daughters Joyce Richardson and Jan Garcia of Independence and Linda Harrison and her husband Les of Blue Springs, sons, Don Priemer of Grain Valley and David Priemer and his wife Renee of Parkville. He was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. (Arr; D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, 816-2528900).
