Emil J Rolenz, 88, of Akron died of natural causes on September 9, 2010.

A lifelong Akron resident, Mr Rolenz was born on November 23, 1921 to Rudolph and Jusztina (Bencsics) Rolenz. A graduate of East High School, Mr Rolenz was a decorated World War II veteran who served in the Pacific with the U.S. Army Signal Corps. After returning to Akron, he received his bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Akron. He was employed by Goodyear Aerospace Corporation, now Lockheed Martin for 35 years, retiring in 1986.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty (Watson); brother, Rudolph of Akron; children, Greg (Rebecca) of Buchanan, N.Y., Michael of Los Angeles, Calif., Kathleen (Wayne Arnason) of Bay Village, Ohio; granddaughter, Jennifer of North Adams, Mass.; step granddaughter, Sarah Arnason of Atlanta, Ga.

Calling hours will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday at Adams Mason Funeral Home, (791 East Market Street). A memorial service will be held immediately following the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crohn's/Colitis Foundation of America. (ADAMS MASON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 330-535-9186)
