Uncle Bob's passing is particularly painful for me as it also brings back memories of my father's passing and Uncle Bob giving me a big hug to try and console me. I had not seen Uncle Bob for a very long time but when I think of him, I immediately remember the time when what I called our "J Street" family Mummers club got together and played. Three generations of musicians having a GREAT time! Grandpop on guitar in the middle sitting easy on a lawn chair , Uncle Bob and Dad on mandolin and myself on accordion cranking out tunes like "Over the Double Eagle" and "The Mummers Strut" at a back yard gathering in PA. A picture of us was taken but right before, I recall someone quickly running over and placing an empty beer can on the arm rest of Grandpop's chair, saying "the picture won't be quite right without it!" At that time I was in the process of entering the computer/electronics industry and Uncle Bob gave me good advice. I remember this all as if it were yesterday and it really reminds me that our time on earth is way too short. I will miss even knowing Uncle Bob is not with us, but I know he is in a far better place than all of us with Dad, Grandpop, Grandmom, Aunt Elsie and Rob. On behalf of my family, may God bless you always.
Love,
Rick Schoen

I have so many fond memories of the time I spent with him. As a child I remember Uncle Bob, Grandpop, Uncle Fred & Richard gathering in the living room playing their instruments. I also remember the wedding doll he bought for me (which I still have). Although we haven't seen each other in quite a while, he was a tremendous part of my life and I thought of him often. His smile and laughter will always be memorable for me. I'll miss him him deeply. I pray your family will find peace with each passing day and the Lord will give you strength during your time of need. We love you and are here for you.
Love,
Debbie Wetzel Clardy
