Emilie MacLennan, nee Burke, age 81, resident of Palatine since 1979, passed away June 19 at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Chicago. Mrs. MacLennan worked for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years of faithful service. She was a life member of the N.W. Council SBC Pioneers and a volunteer at the St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly. Loving wife of the late Donald L. MacLennan; devoted and loving mother of William J. (Marcia) Libby of Connecticut, Janice P. Libby of Schaumburg, Mary E. (Donald) Rose of Rolling Meadows, IL and a stepdaughter Donna (James) Loeppert of Arlington Hts., IL; loving grandmother of Megan and Timothy Libby of Chicago and Charles, Andrew, Steven and Timothy Loeppert of Arlington Hts., IL; fond sister of Dolores (Robert) Fortune of Park Ridge, IL and Joan (James) Dale of Sun City, AZ and the late Rosemarie Burke and Mary Allen; fond aunt and great-aunt of many. Funeral Tuesday 9:30 a.m. from the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, to St. Theresa Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, 80 W. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067, would be appreciated. 847-359-8020.

What a blessing to have known such a great lady! I will remember her quick wit and gracious style, and how she could make me smile with her charming, disarming ways. Emilie was true to herself and others, and adored her family with all her heart. It doesn't get better than that!
