Emily Margaret Birchfield

Emily Margaret Birchfield, 93, passed away January 23, 2017 at the home of her son, Terry D. Birchfield. She was retired from the Alabama State Department of Revenue.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Birchfield; her brothers, W. Pruitt Miner and S.W. (Bill) Miner both of Gardendale, Al; three sisters, Elsie Burton, Pintlala, AL, Helen Jackson of Covington GA, and Mildred Britton of Bradford, AL.
She is the beloved mother of her only son Terry D. Birchfield, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Birchfield. She was the beloved grandmother to Jill Birchfield Garmon, Ginger Birchfield Bain, and Janie Birchfield Powell. She was the great-grandmother to Sydney Sampson, Lindsey Sampson, Kent Maddox, Madden Bain and Pruitt Bain.
She was a founding member of Pintlala Baptist Church where she was a member for 56 years.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Pintlala Baptist Church.
Visitation will be one hour before the service. Graveside will be held at 2:30p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL.
Reverend Gary P. Burton of Pintlala Baptist Church will be presiding.
Leak Memory Funeral Home is directing.
The pallbearers will be Alex Garmon, grandson-in-law, Mark Bain, grandson-in-law, Matt Powell, grandson-in-law, Kent Maddox grandson, Lary Burton, nephew, Jason Burton, grandnephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Pintlala Baptist Church.
