Emily Jordan Burton Resident of Berkeley Nov. 27, 1921 - May 3, 2011 Emily Marie Jordan Burton passed away at her home in Berkeley on May 3rd, 2011, at the age of 89. A 65-year resident of Berkeley, Emily was born November 27, 1921 in Willard, UT. The youngest daughter of David Henry Jordan and Mary Hannah Pidcock Jordan, Emily was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from the University of Utah in 1942. Emily devoted countless hours volunteering and fundraising for Oakland Children's Hospital, Bayberry Branch. Her other interests included reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, the performing arts, as well as cooking, entertaining, needlework, and knitting. She will be fondly remembered for the very special Christmas stockings she knitted for five generations of her family. Friends and family will never forget her unique sense of humor. Emily was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Blair F. Burton; sisters Lois Lake and Kareen Ketterer; and brothers Reed Jordan and Neal Jordan. She is survived by her sister-in-law Edel Burton, Oakland and her many beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held for Emily on Monday, May 9th, 11am at Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Ave, El Cerrito, with viewing from 10am. Interment service to follow. Memorial Contributions in Emily's name may be made to Children's Hospital Oakland, Bayberry Branch, 5700 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, T-2, Oakland, California 94609 SUNSET VIEW MORTUARY Tel.
