EMILY BROWN HUDSPETH, 82, died on June 7, 2008 at St. Dominic Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Clark Brown and Marguerite Bernos Brown, and her husband, Robert Eugene Hudspeth. Emily Hudspeth was born in Houston, TX on August 4, 1925. She grew up in Houston and graduated from Lamar High School in 1942. She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and graduated in 1946. She married Robert Eugene Hudspeth on February 9, 1952 and lived in Houston for several years. After the birth of their daughter, they moved to New Orleans, LA where they remained for 40 years. The final years of her life were spent near her daughter and family in Madison, MS. Emily loved cooking, sewing, traveling, and being with friends and family. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Orléans Club of New Orleans. She is survived by Debbie Hudspeth Barnes (daughter) and husband, Neil; grandchildren Megan Barnes Adcock and husband Adam, Christian Hudspeth Barnes, Timothy Clark Barnes and great-grandson Benjamin Noah Adcock, all off Madison, Ms. The family appreciates the friendship and services of Evelyn Gaines, The Arbor of Ridgeland, and St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson, MS in caring for Emily. Funeral Service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery, Houston, TX on Saturday, June 14 at 1 pm. Visitation will start at noon. Memorials may be made to Boys Town, Southwestern University at Georgetown, TX or Christ Covenant School of Ridgeland, MS. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Highland Colony is in charge of charge of local arrangements.
