Emily Burd McGalliard was promoted into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Orlando, Florida. She was 76, a native of Napoleonville, LA and a resident of Orlando, FL. Visitation on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church from 9:00 am until religious services followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial in the church cemetery. Emily is survived by her husband, Duncan McGalliard, Jr.; 4 children, Marissa Taylor (Jemal) of Orlando, FL, Eleshia Louis (Dietrick Sr.) of Toano, VA, Annica McGalliard of Atlanta, GA, Duncan McGalliard III (Chantal) of Lafayette LA; 5 grandchildren, Jemal Taylor II, Dietrick Louis, Jr., Skylar McGalliard, Averi McGalliard and baby McGalliard, coming soon; 6 siblings, Anna Mae Larkins, Evenda Walker, Jamesetta White, Lovell McGalliard, Barren and Harold Burd; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends including Chanita McGalliard. Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Jr. and Helen Burd; in-laws, Duncan McGalliard Sr. and Mable McGalliard; siblings, Veronica Johnson, Earl, Theodore III, Leon and Vincent Burd.
