I just heard about our dear Emily's passing. Emily was very special to me, and she filled a void in my life when I was her student teacher's assistant in high school (as I believe she did with so many of us). I thoroughly enjoyed my visits with her over many years.

I will miss seeing her Christmas ornaments in various containers around the house, her renditions of the various adventurous vacations she experienced, and most of all, her words of wisdom.

Dean, Emily often told me how proud she was of you. I was encouraged to see your entry here. However, i was conflicted whether to consider myself a student or a friend. Truely, I know both of us were her friends.

I just tried to call Mrs. Tannone's phone number and received a disconnection - I thought the worst, and googled her name. I feel so empty not being able to talk with her - we last talked about a year ago. She was my all time favorite teacher, that had a huge impact of my life. I just retired from teaching after 38 years. I hope I touched just one kid over the years as she touched so many of us.

Emily was a very special lady...her dedication to the things she believed in were followed with integrity in her day to day living.
She was a good friend and we loved her and will miss her.
